Wrap is a celebration of illustration, design and creative culture, putting the spotlight on some of the best artists from around the world. Each issue includes five double-sided sheets of wrapping paper.
Wrap is a publication that bridges the gap between being a magazine and a product – while each themed edition comes full of interviews and features on an eclectic range of creative endeavours, it also includes ten illustrated wrapping papers made especially for that issue, printed on five double-sided pull-out sheets.
For our Spring edition – ‘Drawn Together’, we focus on illustration and design ‘collectives’, celebrating the fantastic things that come from people power! A beautiful and inspiring issue with unique prints on our theme by 10 of the most exciting and original illustration collectives of the moment, including Nous Vous (issue 7‘s cover artists), Peepshow Collective, Edition Biografiktion and Hvass&Hannibal. And, as always, the contributors designs come printed within the magazine and on 5 double-sided pull-out sheets of wrapping paper – a perfect way for readers to share their favourite illustrations with others. As well as interviews with each contributing artist, inside issue seven you’ll also find a host of engaging features like our photo-portraits of the team behind Dalton-based screen printers – Print Club London, and graphic designer Anthony Burrill introduces Wrap to the old letterpress printers in Rye that he collaborates with to produce his famous posters.
Founded by designers Chris Harrison and Polly Glass in September 2010 with the aim of showcasing the work of up-and-coming illustrators, Wrap is published three times a year and stocked in more than 150 shops around the world. These include London’s Tate Modern, Do You Read Me?! in Berlin, Papercut in Stockholm and MoMA PS1 in New York. Wrap also sells direct to online shoppers around the world, and has a growing list of yearly subscribers. Creative directors Chris and Polly are helped by editor Harry Glass, plus regular features writer Sarah Housley. But it is the talented contributing illustrators, as well as other freelance writers and photographers, who help to make Wrap possible. The Wrap studio also produces a range of illustration-led stationery, including a new collection of single sheet wrapping paper, gift cards and Wrap Packs – designed to happily provide you with all you’ll need to wrap and give a gift.Wrap magazine and all Wrap products are produced in the UK.
